Experience

Physics Tutor for High School Students Edouard provides tutoring sessions in physical sciences 1-on-1, in small groups and when requested, to classes at international Schools (in Zuid Holland). The courses he supports for exam preparation are IB (SL and HL), AP1, A-levels (AS and A2) and IGCSE/GCSE . For other courses please contact me for an evaluation. Feedback from students show an average increase of 2 Marks (out of 7) compared to what was expected before the tuition. This year Edouard tested international tutoring using Skype with 2 students (one in France, the other in Luxembourg). It was a success!. Consequently, as long as you have a good internet connection, he can provide support anywhere in the world! ----- References from parents ----- "M. Reny has been tutoring my daughter individually and in a small group, in IB Physics HL... Mr Reny uses a variety of instructionnal strategies to address each subject and is very sensitive to different learning styles... Mr. Reny's ability to connect with his students and his talent at teaching simple concepts, as well as more advanced topics, are both truly superior. He shows excellent written and verbal communication skills and is extremely organized and reliable.... He has become a very valued surrogate teacher, not a mere tutor. I recommend Mr. Reny without any reservation." (Mrs. C. N.) "...It is a pleasure to work with such a passionate, knowledgeable and reliable teacher, whose overall approach as a tutor is very effective. Besides having a broad base of knowledge in physics, Edouard always creates a positive learning experience for his students. He helps them understand the material by giving relevant examples and applications from the real world. Moreover, he dedicates a lot of time preparing for the tutoring sessions, planning them very carefully with the support of excellent multimedia materials, which spark the interest of my daughter for the subject and help her get a better grasp of physical concepts.... ...Edouard has also been an excellent communicator with myself, providing regular feedback on my daughter’s work and progress. I think that my daughter has had a great benefit having Edouard as her teacher, and I recommend him without reservation, as I know you will find him a most dedicated and helpful tutor." (Mrs. A. V.) ----- Past Experience ----- Within his previous position as a Senior Research Chemist for a large corporation, he has been training collaborators in industrial processes and specific chemical technologies. While he was living in Japan, Edouard integrated a Language school where he learned Japanese and taught French. He also provided one-on-one conversation lessons to Japanese students. In addition, as an acting associate professor, he supported Japanese master students in chemical sciences (Hiroshima University). While working on his Ph.D., Edouard taught classes (16 students) at Bordeaux University in crystallography and material sciences (Bachelor level). During his pre-doctorate studies, he provided private lessons in French, English, Physics and Mathematics to high school students, and general tutoring to primary school and junior high school students.
